Lean ground chicken combines with fresh spinach and sharp white cheddar to create a juicy patty that’s packed with protein, greens, and flavor in every bite.

It’s perfect for weeknight dinners, summer grilling, or a healthy lunch option. Tuck it into a whole grain bun with your favorite toppings—like avocado, tomato, or garlic aioli—and enjoy a burger that’s just as satisfying as it is good for you.

 Ingredients:

For the Chicken Patties:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground chicken
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped
  • ¾ cup shredded white cheddar cheese
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs (optional, for binding)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)

For Assembling:

  • 4 burger buns (toasted if desired)
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Sliced red onion
  • Avocado slices
  • Your favorite sauce (aioli, mustard, or mayo)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Patties:

  • In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped spinach, cheddar, garlic, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, egg, and breadcrumbs (if using).
  • Mix gently until just combined—don’t overmix.

2. Form & Chill:

  • Form into 4 even-sized patties.
  • Place patties on a plate, cover, and chill for 15–20 minutes to help them hold together during cooking.

3. Cook the Patties:

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side, or until golden and cooked through (internal temp of 165°F / 74°C).
  • Alternatively, grill on medium-high heat for a smoky flavor.

4. Assemble the Burgers:

  • Spread sauce of choice on the bottom bun.
  • Add lettuce, chicken patty, tomato, onion, avocado, and top bun.
  • Serve hot with a side of sweet potato fries or salad.

 Tips & Variations:

  • Make it low-carb by skipping the bun and serving over a bed of greens.
  • Add jalapeños for heat or caramelized onions for sweetness.
  • Use turkey instead of chicken for a variation.
